Hello Protein!

One thing that needs to be understood is how important it is we get enough protein in our diet - and how often that mark is missed! Protein is one of the 3 macronutrients - Carbohydrates, Proteins and Fats. While they all have their role in our health, proteins are necessary for maintaining muscle mass and supporting blood sugar control in the body. Each persons target goals are different for how much to have in a day because it is based on both your body's muscle mass and your activity level. The more muscles you have, the more protein you need to maintain it. Along with that, the more active you are, the more protein you need to replace any muscles that have been broken down as a result. I've found that with most people, the hardest meals to add protein to has been breakfasts (if you are eating breakfast at all-- but that's a topic for another time. Here are some eacy receipes for you to try so you can get more protein in your day!
